Hello, Reader.

Since this newsletter is going out right in the middle of holy week, it seems the perfect time to share some of my favorite resources for celebrating Resurrection Day!

Psalm 30:5 tells us, "Weeping may last for the night, But a shout of joy comes in the morning." And the shout of joy that went up from Christ's disciples on that first Easter morning when they found His tomb standing empty is still reverberating today!

I hope you'll reflect on the joyful, abundant life Jesus offers -- and accept with gratitude and gladness His gift of salvation and forgiveness -- as we celebrate Easter this weekend.

Free resources for you this week:

What I'm reading this week:

Sudoku Variations Vol. 4 by Djape

I've been a fan of sudoku for decades, but Djape's books of Sudoku Variations have turned me into a super-fan. I keep a book going at all times and try to complete at least one or two puzzles a week. I'm hoping they'll help keep my mind healthy and protect me against Alzheimer's.

This book contains the most intricate and challenging puzzles I've encountered yet -- after the first 30, I was unable to finish any in one sitting. I've now successfully completed all 152 challenges, though many combined as many as nine sudoku grids into a singular puzzle.

On the podcast this week:

OUR FAVORITE EASTER TRADITIONS

We're right in the middle of holy week, which makes this a great time to discuss some of our family's favorite Easter traditions -- especially those that keep our focus on the finished work of Christ on the cross.

Progress on last week's goals:

Here's a run down of how last week's to-do list panned out: I wrote senior bios for graduation programs, installed a new water filter under my kitchen sink, caught up on thank you notes and snail-mail correspondence, dressed up for Superhero Day at co-op, turned in all my tax receipts for this year's co-op classes, turned in lesson plans for next year's co-op classes, cut my sons'/grandson's hair, and reviewed a fun new art kit for Timberdoodle.

I also started (but didn't finish) weeding my flower beds and making my leather luggage tag. I'll keep working on both those projects as time allows.

Personal goals for this week:

  • make some new Easter decorations ✝️
  • host Easter dinner & activities for extended family 🍗
  • celebrate my baby's 15th birthday 🎉
  • take her to get her driving permit 🚘
  • celebrate my 60th birthday 🎂
  • pack for a trip to Washington, DC ✈️
