Hello, Reader.

This month is almost over, but we can't let it slip by without acknowledging the fact that May is "National Date Your Mate Month."

Although my husband did take me to see the new Mission Impossible movie last week, most of our dates lately have taken the form of walking together around the block or to the grocery store down the street.

We've also been listening to audiobooks together before bed, something my son told me just yesterday that he and his wife have started doing in the evenings together, as well. I guess great minds think alike.

Fortunately, we don't have to pack all our dating into the month of May. Any time is a good time to nurture your marriage. So that's the topic for this week's link list. Hope you'll find some fun ideas for nurturing yours.

Free resources for you this week:

What I'm reading this week:

Do you want to keep naively believing that Big Pharma (or even the FDA) has your best interest at heart? Then you better not read this book.

If, however, you'd like to know how deep the corruption goes or the extent to which certain pharmaceutical companies put profit ahead of public safety, Gardiner Harris's eye-opening book, No More Tears, delivers such details big time. (#afflink)

It's based on decades of investigative journalism, internal memos, courtroom testimonies, and firsthand accounts of people whose lives were forever altered by the pernicious products peddled and the perilous cover-ups perpetrated by one of America's most trusted companies, Johnson & Johnson.

What we're eating this week:

Do you want to know what's on my menu this week and every week (and very nearly every day)? It's my delicious, nutritious rainbow salad. There are lots of ways to tweak this recipe, and every one of them is packed with vitamins, fiber, and other great nutrients!

On the podcast this week:

Loving Life at Home: Episode 85

MEMORIZE PROVERBS 3 WITH ME

The best way I know to β€œmeditate day and night” on the Word of God is to commit large portions of Scripture to memory. Then you’ll always have it with you.

Want an easier way to do that? This week I'm sharing a simple, straightforward way to memorize Proverbs 3 β€” the entire chapter. Won't you join me?

Progress on last week's goals:

While I didn't finish everything on last week's to-do list, I did make marked progress: I βœ… switched out the ornaments on my seasonal tree for stars & stripes in time for Memorial Day, β€‹βœ… repaired the broken door to our storage room, βœ… fixed a broken birdhouse, and βœ… finished two more pages in my God Bless America journal.

I also βœ… memorized Philippians 2:1-11 (but ❌ 12-16), βœ… cut the messages in my inbox down by 2/3 (but ❌ not 75%), and βœ… cleared out several more (but ❌ not all) the storage boxes in my garage.

Personal goals for this week:

  • sort and organize section of blue storage bins in garage
  • make leather cord clips for charging cables
  • stencil some new reusable grocery bags
  • embroider the neck of my favorite black dress where fabric is wearing thin
  • write and send the stack of birthday/anniversary/graduation cards sitting on my desk
  • add product videos to Amazon so shoppers can peek inside my state capitol passport, my national parks passport, and all my devotional journals
