Hello, Reader.

Did you know October is National Eat Better/ Eat Together Month? It is! And our family has been trying to do exactly that.

Want to join us? This week's link list is full of resources designed to improve your diet and you mealtime conversations. Bon appΓ©tit!

Free resources for you this week:

What I'm reading this week:

Supergifted by Gordon Korman

My daughter and I finished listening to Gordon Korman's Supergifted last week, then convinced my husband to listen to Hypergifted (the third book in the series) with us on our way to Kansas today.

Both books chronicle the zany adventures of impulsive middle schooler, Donovan Curtis, and his brilliant but socially awkward friend, Noah Youkilis.

The characters are loveable, the plots are clever, and the books leave us asking ourselves, "How does Gordon Korman come up with so many hilarious stories?"

On the podcast this week:

Loving Life at Home: Episode 119

Q&A – HOMESCHOOL LESSON PLANS, RECORDS, TEACHING MULTIPLE AGES

Today I’m tackling some of the questions that have piled up in my inbox and DMs lately from listeners and subscribers. And since a bunch of those inquiries are related to the topic of homeschooling, I’ll answer those questions first....

Progress on last week's goals:

All those goals I carried over from the week before last? They didn't get done this time either. That means I haven't ❌ outlined my 2026 Christmas letter, ❌ cleaned out my gift cabinet, ❌ organized my gift bags, or ❌ inventoried my Christmas gift purchases.

I DID finish the other six goals, however: I βœ… visited the Dallas Arboretum, βœ… attended my nephew's wedding reception, βœ… stitched a felt leaf garland, βœ… attended my daughter's baby shower, βœ… postedanother Timberdoodle review, and βœ… recorded a new podcast episode (linked above).

Even so, the undone items tell me I've been biting off more than I can chew, so I'm breaking those unfinished tasks down into smaller chunks to see if I can knock them out that way, little by little.

Personal goals for this week:

  • cheer my daughter on at the National Volleyball Championship Tournament
  • drive back to Tyler once it's over
  • record part 2 of my homeschooling Q&A podcast
  • get supplies ready for next week's co-op craft
  • prepare organization talk for life skills class
  • organize my gift bags and tissue paper
  • reduce inbox to 50 or fewer messages (again)
  • finish one crochet project: either a pumpkin or a nutcracker
