Hello, Reader.

May is almost upon us, which means graduation season will soon be underway! Our young granddaughter already graduated kindergarten. Her little ceremony was held during our homeschool co-op's end-of-the-year program Monday night, and we cheered her on as she received her diploma. Her stated career goal: to be a mommy when she grows up.

Our ninth born, Isaac, will be graduating from UT Tyler on Friday with a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering. Family will gather at our house afterwards for food, fun, and fellowship.

Since graduation is top of mind, I decided to make it the theme of this week's link list, as well.

Free resources for you this week:

What I'm reading this week:

Tactics by Greg Koukl

My husband and I listened to Greg Koukl's excellent book, Tactics, on our way to and from Louisiana last weekend. In it, the author shares practical strategies for discussing your Christian convictions with people who do not share them.

He provides a roadmap for doing this in a naturally amicable and gracious way by asking lots of questions to clarify points of disagreement. He advises readers not to become flustered or defensive. Our goal should be to "put a stone" in the other person's shoe--give him something solid to think about. If anyone storms away from the conversation angry, Koukl says, you lose.

What we're watching this week:

We've continued to enjoy World Watch News as a family. I watch it daily with the kids/grandkids I'm still homeschooling, as it is a quick and easy way to stay on top of current events, delivered from a Christian perspective that faithfully affirms, "Whatever the news, the purpose of the LORD will stand."

Interested in seeing it yourself? Sign up using my referral link, and you and I will both get one month of World Watch for FREE.

On the podcast this week:

Loving Life at Home: Episode 111

ARE YOU UP FOR A CHALLENGE?

But being married is like riding a bike. You can only coast for so long before losing your momentum and falling over. You’ve got to keep pedaling if you don’t want to crash.

One way to keep peddling is by taking the challenge I’m sharing on the podcast this week. Want to join me?

Progress on last week's goals:

I very nearly finished all my goals last week. Progress was definitely made. But I was only able to fewer than half of the items completely off my to-do list:

Done and dusted: I βœ… enjoyed a trip to New Orleans with my husband, βœ… completed the last of our Spanish lessons for the school year, and βœ… recorded a new podcast (see description above)

Close but no cigar: I didn't ❌ empty two more boxes in my garage (but did βœ… clear out one). I didn't ❌ memorize Luke 6:27-36 (but did βœ… get the first few verses down pat). I didn't ❌ complete another Christmas stocking (but did βœ… sew on most of the sequins). And I din't quite ❌ finish crocheting my navy cardigan (but βœ… got everything done adding the buttons and buttonholes).

Personal goals for this week:

  • add buttons and buttonholes to crocheted cardigan 🧢
  • complete felt Christmas stocking πŸŽ„
  • attend son's graduation πŸ‘¨πŸ»β€πŸŽ“
  • host family dinner afterwards πŸ•
  • attend memorial service for a dear friend's husband πŸ™
  • finish memorizing Luke 6:27-36 πŸ“–
  • send new memory passage to kids & grands πŸ“¬
  • reduce inbox to <50 messages πŸ“₯
  • write 10 questions for family reading challenge❓
  • map out lesson plans for next fall's co-op classes πŸ“

If you enjoy this newsletter and would like to support my work, there are five ways for you to do that:

  1. Say a prayer for me & my family πŸ™
  2. Invite a friend to subscribe to this newsletter πŸ“
  3. Follow me on Instagram πŸ“Έ
  4. Buy one of my books πŸ“š
  5. Hit reply and say hello πŸ‘‹

Thanks so much for all your help! I'll be back next week with more links, reviews, and resources. If you have any special requests, please let me know. 😊
