Hello, Reader.

The new year will be upon us in a matter of hours. Can you believe it? I love the feeling of starting over with a clean slate. Making plans. Praying through priorities. Laying the foundation for a productive and God-glorifying 12 months ahead.

How about you? Are you in the no-resolutions-for-me-ever-ever-ever camp? Or are you more of an always-optimistic-let's-make-this-year-better-than-the-last sort of person?

Either way, the resources on this week's link list are all about defining priorities, setting goals, and getting 2026 off to a great start!

Free resources for you this week:

What I'm reading this week:

โ€‹

โ€‹The Holy Bibleโ€‹

I try to read through the Bible cover-to-cover every year and normally follow a One-Year Bible Reading Plan to help me do that. I finished my 2025 reading on Saturday and got an early start on 2026.

As you'll undoubtedly notice if you subscribe for long, I'm an avid bookworm. But the most impactful book I've ever read is God's Holy Word. My favorite translation: NASB. The one pictured is currently on sale.

Even if you never crack any of the other books I talk about on my blog or in my newsletter, I'd encourage you to spend time daily in this one, praying that God will help you understand and apply what you read.

This week's reader request:

Yes, I know, 2026 is not even officially underway, but requests for my free 2027 Calendars have already begun pouring in. Evidently, a lot of my readers are advanced planners!

So, I posted a variety of calendars for 2027 this week. Not yet ready to plan that far ahead? You can still download my 2026 calendars here.

On the podcast this week:

Loving Life at Home: Episode 106

โ€‹10 RESOLUTIONS WE ALL SHOULD MAKEโ€‹

I love the fresh start January represents, so I normally kick it off with a list of New Yearโ€™s resolutions as long as my arm.

Some of my goals are specific and easily quantifiable. Others (the more challenging ones) take the form of more general reminders. Today Iโ€™m sharing ten such resolutions I think should be on everybodyโ€™s list.

Progress on last week's goals:

I only finished half my to-do list last week. I โœ… attended three different Christmas Eve services with various children, โœ… filled 33 Christmas stockings and โœ… celebrated Christmas with family (a day late, since my husband had 24-hour call at the hospital Christmas day), โœ… printed my new 2026 day planner, and โœ… recorded another podcast.

Unfortunately, I never got around to โŒ making any freezer meals, โŒ writing any Timberdoodle reviews, or โŒ organizing any boxes in our garage. And, although I โœ… made decent headway organizing my desktop and clearing my inbox last week, by now โŒ โŒ both chores need to be done all over again. ๐Ÿ˜…

Personal goals for this week:

  • โ€‹write thank you notes for Christmas gifts
  • start back to homeschooling after holiday break
  • take down Christmas trees
  • put away other holiday decor
  • make 3 freezer meals (some readers have requested recipes... which I 'll try to publish soon)
  • write 1 Timberdoodle reviewโ€‹
  • put together more snack bags for the homeless
  • send at least 1 box to Goodwill
  • reduce emails to <100
  • finish 3 new Christmas stockings (did I tell you we're expecting 3 more grandbabies in 2026?)

If you enjoy this newsletter and would like to support my work, there are five ways for you to do that:

  1. Say a quick prayer for me & my family ๐Ÿ™
  2. Invite a friend to โ€‹โ€‹subscribe to this newsletterโ€‹โ€‹ ๐Ÿ“ญ
  3. Follow me on โ€‹โ€‹Instagramโ€‹โ€‹ ๐Ÿ“ธ
  4. Buy one of โ€‹my booksโ€‹โ€‹ ๐Ÿ“š
  5. Hit reply and say hello ๐Ÿ‘‹

โ€‹
Thanks so much for all your help! I'll be back next week with more links, reviews, and resources. If you have any special requests, please let me know. ๐Ÿ˜Š
